
Hiroshi Katsuchi

Hiroshi Katsuchi is a Professor in Structural Engineering at Yokohama National University (YNU). Currently, Prof. Katsuchi is the Dean of the Graduate School of Urban Innovation. He has a master’s degree in Structural Engineering from Johns Hopkins University (US), a Ph.D. in Wind Engineering from Yokohama National University (Japan).
His research fields related to Aeroelasticity for long-span bridges Structural Dynamics, SHM for long-span bridges, and Bridge Maintenance. Professor Katsuchi has authored or co-authored more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. A recognized expert in the field of wind engineering, he has been invited to present his research work around the world including invited lecturers and keynote speakers for many conferences. He has successfully supervised many Master's students and Ph.D. scholars.
Currently, he is a senior member of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE), a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Association for Wind Engineering, and International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineering. He has participated in aerodynamics design projects for cable-supported bridges in Japan and overseas.
